A New History
The editors of the popular Encyclopedia of the Stone-Campbell Movement (Eerdmans, 2004) have put together a team for an exciting project: writing a new narrative history of the Stone-Campbell Movement.
Paul Blowers, Doug Foster, and Newell Williams will lead this team of professional historians to produce a history that is truly global in scope and inclusive of all the rich diversity of the Movement.
This new history will recognize the beginnings of the Movement in North America and consider its growth across the globe. It will include the traditional voices of the Movement and the voices of those whose stories have been neglected in previous histories. And it will be a common story for all expressions of the Movement.
The story will be told in such a way that our shared past, our common interests, and our pursuit of Christian unity are the main themes. Truly it will be a history of the Stone-Campbell Movement for the 21st century.
